USING PLAY AS A COMMUNICATION TOOL AND TO HELP.
River Region Psychiatry Services is pleased to offer play therapy services provided by Registered Play Therapist Supervisors.
Play Therapy is a modality of therapy that assists children, adolescents, and even some adults in a non-threatening way to address trauma, improve communication skills, resolve developmental issues, learn to regulate emotions and includes many other benefits.
Play Therapists address issues including but not limited to depression, anxiety, attention deficit disorder, autism spectrum disorder, childhood bullying, and divorce.
A Registered Play Therapist has advanced training beyond the licensure level for mental health. Many clinicians utilize play in therapy, but a Registered Play Therapist provides theoretically sound programs to elicit the therapeutic powers of play and promote wellness.
